Bottom of the Barrel- September Randoms

I've been so busy trying to get caught up with scrapbooking, that I've really let my blog slip. Here are a few pictures from September that have no particular sequence, but that show what we've been up to this month. Logan and I do breakfast picnics most mornings. This day he's eating pancakes and watching Mickey Mouse

Our TV isn't' really broken. Logan loves to touch the tv and talk to Mickey when his show is on
Dad and Logan eating cereal together. I don't know why, but I LOVE this picture
Gazing out his window, or contemplating the death of my plants...LOL

Sticker mania at my house

Itsy, bitsy, spider

Hudson isn't so sure he wants to ride with Logan. The boys really love playing together
We have a wonderful little park in the complex that we pretty much went to daily before it got cold

We baked cookies and let the kids decorate
I call this couch potato

Pulling Teeth

Here lately it's been like pulling teeth to get Logan to brush his. I have to threaten him with no tv, no treats, and many many other things. Sometimes it works, and well sometimes I have to call for reinforcements. Daddy Dustin! For some reason, and I can't figure out why, he listens to Dustin so much better than me. Of course we have the "do it myself" problem too. I try to do the whole mommy's turn and then Logan's turn, and that just turns into a fight because I just barely touch his teeth with the brush and then he yells "my do it, my turn". Anyways here are a few cute pictures of "my do it".

144.2

I know it's been 2 weeks since my last post. We have been dealing with a very sick child and Dustin has had his second series of grueling test. Needless to say, I didn't make it to the gym so much. Although those are not good excuses, I guess they cushion my disappointment in the lack of success this post. I am almost a pound heavier this weigh in. This is proof to me that if I want to reach my goal that I need to make sure I'm continually working and not slacking off. So I'll work harder next week, and hopefully have happier news!

On a happier note, I've decided that I want to start sharing some of my "diet" foods that I use to replace other certain "not so diet" foods. So the first item is I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray. I use it on EVERYTHING instead of butter. Not only is it zero calories, it taste wonderful. I just cook all my veggies and breads without butter and then add this right before serving, and it really makes all the difference. You'd be surprised how many calories you can cut out of food just by cutting out butter. It also passes the Dustin stamp of approval. So try it, and see what you think!

143.3

Well today I'm 3 pounds closer to my goal. I'm actually shocked at the results because I had a bad week. It was that week where I couldn't resist chocolate, ice cream, and many, many other goodies. I've decided it's not really what I eat, but just how much I eat. I've been really working on having only one small serving if meals, but of course as many veggies as I want because they are free if you prepare them properly. This coming week I'm going to try and go to the gym more and stay away from sweets. If anyone wants to join me please, please. I think peer pressure (the kind you inflict on yourself) is really working. Thanks for all the supportive comments! I'm going to start posting more of my goals on this blog, because I really find motivation when others are watching. BYE BYE for now!!

Weight control has been a life long battle for me. As a child I spent many days crying in the dressing rooms of clothing stores because the clothes just didn't fit. I remember my mom and I shopping in the JC Penny catalog as an alternative because they had a pretty plus line for young children. There were times I would literally squeeze into my older sisters clothes because I wanted to wear them even though she was quite a few sizes smaller than me. As a result, I would come home from school with thick red lines across my belly from the pants digging in all day. My parents did everything they could from bribes for pounds, helping me set goals, buying me whatever clothes I wanted with no success. I just wasn't motivated to stick to anything. At age 10 I think I decided it was time to make a change. I was unhappy, and very sick of being teased from other kids. Yes kids did tease me! Kids are cruel. I put myself on a very strict diet, but being a kids I wasn't very sure how to go about dieting. I just counted fat grams in everything that I ate. If it had more than a certain number I just wouldn't eat it. I ate healthy for the most part, but if I did indulge my self I stuck to Snack Well snacks. I did slim up after about a year.

So the big question is: Why am I sharing all those intimate details about my childhood weight struggle? Well after I had Logan I didn't magically slim back down. So my mom and dad being as supportive and loving as they are again wanted me to feel happy with myself. They helped me join Weight Watchers. This program is a total winner if you can afford the weekly meetings, and the time to go to them. I did it for about a month and lost about 10 pounds, but then shortly after just slacked off because I couldn't go to the meetings anymore. I kept the weight off, but just didn't seem to loose anymore. I got to thinking about what really made me loose weight with this program, and then it hit me that it wasn't really the dieting, but the weekly meetings where I had to weigh in and answer to my weekly eating habits. This is where my blog comes in.

To pick up the weight loss routine and obtain my "ideal" weight I've made my own plan. I'm going to post my weight weekly. (the purpose of the numbers in the title) This will not only help me keep track of my progress, but also give me motivation to continue weekly workouts and healthy eating. The complete humiliation of sharing this and not following through won't hurt either. If anyone wants to join me that would be great, the more the merrier. (if you don't feel comfortable posting your weight maybe just post the pounds lost) I realize that we all have different ideal weights, and that my starting weight may just be someone else's ideal weight, or that my idea weight my in turn be someone else's starting weight. We are all built in different shapes and sizes, so I'm going to make sure that while working on this goal, that I also make an effort not to compare myself to someone else.

If you want to join me please feel free to post your progress in the comment section, or if you just have comments post there too!! So that's the end until next week!!
