Dumpster Diving 101

OK so here they have the "rubbish" room where you put your trash down this chute and it goes into a big room down stairs. Well some people just put their "trash" in the room to be thrown away, but the thing is a lot of it isn't garbage at all. It's what I would call garage sale quality. Anyways so Dustin and I have thoroughly enjoyed dumpster diving. So far I have found a complete set of salad and cereal bowls, a chair for Logan's desk, a box to use as a trash can, and 2 nice bouncy balls for Logan to play with. The other day we rode the elevator up and down the levels to each rubbish room and I ran in while Dustin held it to see if there was anything interesting to get. We've really enjoyed it, and plus it's free entertainment.

Welcome to Boston

We are here, settled, and some what know our way around (our little community at least). Here are some pictures of the new house. It's small in some areas, but very spacious in others. Overall we are very pleased with the decision we made to rent sight unseen. We love the complex for so many reasons. We have a gym, pool, tennis, basketball, playground, and kids room. We are so excited about all these amenities because we know the funds will be limited, but we can pretty much entertain ourselves within the complex. We are also excited because there are 7 other couples within our complex who are LDS and going to dental school. They've already invited us to hang out a few times. It's nice to know since we don't have family here, that we will at least have a close knit group of friends. Our ward is small, but it is mostly made up of couples just like us, so that's nice. The area we live in is great!! The ocean is just 2 miles away. We are very close to everything shopping you could ever ask for, and the subway to downtown Boston is just down the road. We've gone into Boston a few times, and the subway is fast, mostly clean, and very efficient. So far so good!!! We have been really enjoying the weather! Nice cool nights, and mild summer days. We weren't expecting humidity, but unfortunately there is a little here! Over all we are very pleased with Boston. So anyways here are pictures of our new apartment. I'll update more about Boston later, but right now I just don't have any pictures to post. Logan's room with all his toys!
More toys!! Our goal was to create his own personal area to make a mess and keep toys out of the living room in order to have more space.

His room has a connecting bathroom, but is also the guest bathroom and laundry room.

Welcome to Boston 2

Living and kitchen area

Guest bathroom and laundry area. Kindof a hard area to imagine from this pictures.

Kitchen and dining area.

Our bedroom, but it's barly big enough for a king bed! Of course we wouldn't want anything smaller to sleep on.

Master bathroom.

Moving Out

Today is moving day, and Dustin and my dad are off to Boston. They left about 10am, and they should be in Boston no later than 12pm on the 15th. My mom, Logan, and I are flying on the 17th. We are so excited for this exciting new adventure we are about to have, but even more excited to the door that this opportunity is opening. This is a stock photo of the truck, but this is exactly what Dustin and my dad looked like pulling out of the drive. Boston here we come!!!!!

In the mind of a child.......

So today we went to Home Depot for some stuff and while we were walking around the store Logan found a piece of cardboard box that was about a 1 1/2 ft long and about 3 in wide. To preface the story, while my mom and I were hunting cactus for months we went to Home Depot A LOT and Logan really got sick of it. To Logan this was just another boring trip to Home Depot that he had to come on. Anyways he finds this piece of cardboard and he's carrying it around the store hitting things and dragging it behind him. He's bored so he lagging behind me, but I know he's there because I can here his little feet dragging the floor. All the sudden I hear (in a deep serious voice) "murrrrrrrrr murrrrrrr" and I turn around and Logan has this piece of cardboard up to his nose, moving his head up and down, and pretending he is an elephant. It may be one of those stories that you have to be there to laugh, but I cracked up for like 5 mins. I couldn't believe 1st that he remembered from Baby Einstein what noise an elephant made, but 2nd and most of all I can't believe he used such imagination. Anyways that's my funny story of the day!!!

Here is one more story! Dustin has been working really hard with Logan to teach him how to pray. So every night when I put him to bed he folds his arms and we pray, and I'd say about 3 out of 5 times he'll repeat the pray after me. Well for the past 3 nights this is how the prayer has gone.

Mom: Dear Heavenly Father
Logan: Dear Heavenly Father

Mom: Thank you for our family
Logan: Tank you family

Mom: Thank you for church
Logan: Tank you church

Mom: Thank you for nursery
Logan: Tank you nursrey....Rexdale

Rexdale is Logan's little friend in nursery, and he talks about him often. I think it's so cute that he prays for him every night. I had to blog these two little stories, because I think at this point age 2 has been my favorite. His personality really shines in everything that he does and says. I just love it, and of course I just love him!!!

Utah Trip

July 24th Pioneer Day fireworksLogan loves the sparklers, but the big ones kind of scared him
The swimming pool that Grandma got for the kids!
Logan thought the bunk beds were a swing!!
The only accident we had was when he fell at the mall, but it was his 1st bum lip. He woke up from his nap and was still tired so he cuddled with Dad on the couch and fell back to sleep!! Too cute!!
Too bad we don't have a park with a play set, because Logan thought it was so neat to go to the park!!

Utah Trip

Grandma and Grandpa Shea with the great grand kids!!!
Here is 1 of the family photos we took!!
Grandma Rheta with the grand kids, minus the new one!!
Another family photo!!
Here is the best group picture we could get! It's not perfect, but at least everyone is in it!

Utah Trip

Tyler, Logan, and Morgan were so cute posing for pictures together. We went to the park by our old condo, and of course the kids enjoyed all the swings, and jungle gyms.
I thought this was the cutest picture of Logan playing in the pool, and I think that smile is a good indicator of how much fun he had with his cousins.

A picture of Logan just wouldn't be a picture without a ball!!!
It's crazy how Texas is my home, but leaving Utah makes me so nostalgic. We were able to visit this month, and although it was a quick trip, we had a lot of fun. Dustin's cousin that he's closest to got married and we went to the wedding. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding, and we are so happy for them. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures. We spent most of our time with Dustin's immediate family. It was so sweet to see the kids play together. They enjoyed time in the pool and just playing. Also Dustin's grandparents drove all the way from California to visit, and we were so grateful for that! We really enjoyed their company. We visited a lot of friends, and sadly didn't have time to visit all of them. We really enjoy Utah, and every time we visit it pulls at my heart strings. I can't believe how much I've missed that side of the family. It was so sweet how much Tyler really loves his uncle Dustin, and when we left he started crying hysterically. I was told later that the next day they came over for dinner and he ran through the whole house and then went to the toy room in a somber mood. Rheta asked what was wrong and Tyler said I just thought they were playing a trick on me and didn't really leave. What a sweet little boy. We are going to really miss everyone, and hope that our visits next time aren't so spaced. Also Dustin's sister is pregnant, well was pregnant. She had the baby a like a week after we left. I am dying to go back now and hold that sweet little boy! Congrats Skyler and Emily!!! Anyways here are the pictures from the trip. While we were there we attempted family pictures, but Logan was anything but cooperative. Well that's our trip in a nutshell!!!
